Techstyle Lamp
[Lightning] [fabric] [PLA] [bolts]

The Techstyle Lamp is a floor lamp inspired by the Techstyle House, an autonomous dwelling discovered during my stay at Boisbuchet in summer 2025. The design emerged from long hours spent meditating beneath the house’s flowing textile ceiling, where the gentle movement of fabric shaped both light and atmosphere.

The lamp stands 1.25 meters tall, built from five 3D-printed segments in mussel-based PLA, a bio-plastic infused with seashell particles that lends a natural texture and a warm presence to the structure. Around this vertical form, a fabric in matching tones is draped like a coat and fastened with discreet bolts, creating irregular folds that soften and interrupt the printed pattern.

Light comes from a single 1.2-meter warm white LED tube running through the center. By rotating the lamp, the user can choose between two modes: the open side for direct illumination of the room, or the textile side for a gentler, ambient glow shaped by the fabric.

A pendant version of the Techstyle Lamp is currently in development.
